A leading residential property management company is seeking an experienced Accounting Director to join our team at our corporate office in Chestnut Hill. This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing a well-established accounting team of 10 within a growing multifamily real estate portfolio.
Reporting directly to the CFO, the Controller will ensure strong internal controls, GAAP compliance, and financial integrity while supporting operational and investment leadership. This position is a key succession role with a long-term growth path.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience
- 5 years recent experience in Real Estate or Property Management required
- 5+ years of people leadership experience, managing teams of 5+ direct reports
- CPA or advanced degree preferred
- Proficiency with Yardi (strongly preferred); experience with OneSite or AppFolio a plus
- Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables) and strong MS Office proficiency
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support an established accounting team of approximately 10 professionals, including indirect reports
- Oversee property and corporate accounting for a multifamily real estate portfolio
- Ensure GAAP compliance, accurate financial reporting, and strong internal controls
- Partner closely with the CFO and executive leadership on financial strategy and transparency
- Support accounting operations related to Yardi and other property management systems
- Assist with leadership transition and knowledge transfer ahead of a planned retirement on July 1
- Currently working in a Controller role (or equivalent); this role is not suited for Accounting Managers looking to step up
- Real estate or property management accounting experience within the last 5 years required
